Project Eight
Quay 7 Hotel, V&A Waterfront, Cape Town
We are incredibly proud to have supplied our Living Concepts and Mecca Care collections to the prestigious Quay 7 Hotel at the V&A Waterfront, Cape Town.
Positioned within one of South Africa’s most significant hospitality developments in decades, the landmark R1 billion Quay 7 development is set to become one of the country’s most exclusive luxury destinations. Opening as The Cape Town EDITION, the first EDITION hotel in Africa, the development will comprise 142 luxurious guest rooms and suites, together with six serviced residences, complemented by world-class dining experiences, wellness facilities, a rooftop pool and bar, and spectacular views of Table Mountain, the working harbour and the Atlantic Ocean.
We were honoured to contribute to this exceptional project by supplying the accessible bathroom products throughout the hotel. A polished chrome finish was specified across the project, creating a timeless aesthetic that complements the elegant interior design while providing the durability required for luxury hospitality.
The specification included our 600mm and 900mm Living Concepts support rails, carefully positioned to provide discreet assistance without compromising the clean, contemporary appearance of each bathroom. Accessible toilets with a 700mm projection were paired with our support rail system to create comfortable, practical spaces that meet accessibility requirements while maintaining the refined character expected of a luxury hotel.
The bathrooms were further enhanced with our Mecca Care basin mixers featuring extended lever handles, offering intuitive operation for guests with reduced hand strength or limited dexterity, while maintaining a sophisticated, design-led appearance. Foldable shower seats were also incorporated into the accessible bathrooms, providing additional support when required and folding neatly against the wall to preserve the spacious feel of the room.
Projects such as Quay 7 demonstrate that accessibility no longer needs to feel clinical. With beautifully designed products and thoughtful specification, supportive bathrooms can be seamlessly integrated into luxury hospitality, ensuring every guest enjoys comfort, independence and exceptional design.
